manorexia questions

What is manorexia?
It is a disease of eating disorder. It is the same of anorexia, but the male version.

In 50 words, summarize the reasons why manorexia is on the rise.
the most common cause of this disease is caused by the pcuchological effect over persons of the stereotypes the media categorized as "Perfection",and logically to be a mass of media, this disease is also spread.

Why is difficult to identify manorexics?
I think it is difficult to identify because it is rare in men, so little care. The problem is that when you realize, it's too late

Diary entry about steroids

                                                                                                                       4th November 2014
Dear Diary,
Yesterday I saw something in the news that made me think about steroids in sports. Last night I saw a news report about a Brazilian athlete who when he was 16 years old started using steroids because he practiced shot up and he needed more muscles and power to shot the big balls. The report explain the extreme body changes that this guy was in a very short time, but a years later, the muscles if this boy were extremely big and he must to leave the sport, because directors discovered that he used the steroids. Today this guy needed to see a doctor everyday, because he is addicted to steroids and his muscles don`t stop increasing.

When I saw this report, I started thinking about the use of steroids in sport. In my opinion this is very "stupid" because if you want get more muscles you can go to gym, is not necessary inject or consume artificial substances to achieve it. Is not natural and healthy use this strange substance. If you want something use efforts for it. Don`t take the short way.

Obesity

I think that obesity is a very serious problem all over the world, specially in western countries where it has increased a lot.

Obesity can cause serious physical and psicological illnesses, such as heart deseases, diabetes, certain cancers and it might be the cause of other eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia.

In my opinion, I think that if there is someone or something to blame, we might say that the type of life that most of us live provoke this type of sickness.

Health authorities must take an active role in trying to prevent obesity at all ages, specially with kids. Healthy children will be healthy adults in the future.

Unfortunatelly, I think that people who are obese suffer a lot and become psychologically ill, since nowadays the stereotype of successful people is related to “beatiful people” (like the “American boy”) That is to say that obese are not considered socially or for some posts because of their physical appearance. I understand that such an attitude is discriminative but, very sadly,  that is the way it is.

Debate

Debate Motion 2: THB immigrants should assimilate to the cultural identity of the country they arrive to.

Arguments:
1)  Immigrants should assimilate to the cultural identity of the country they arrive because I think it is a way to prevent discrimination. If you adopt somehow the culture and customs of the country you arrive to, you will, sooner o later, be one of them.

2)  A second argument would be that you will be a truly multicultural person. That is an advantage for the immigrants because that person would have more jobs opportunities and would be treated in a similar way as those people belonging to the country.

Rationale

I wrote a letter about the education system in England in contrast to India. I was written with a clear tone and hopes to address a all teenagers with phrases like "the education is very different from here.." and "that system take more liberty.."

I tried as well to use a informal level of vocabulary with word choices like adapted, education and system. Using these elements I feel I reached my purpose of shares an experience about a TCK.

This task addresses the core topic Educational System and specially addresses the topic compares between England and India. I chose a letter to do this because I felt that in this way I could because I know write this text better than other.

Wednesday                                                            August 20, 2014

I have arrived back home from England where I had the most interesting time during a students` interchange program. I spent three weeks with an English family in Bath, a town near of London, which is famous for its roman thermal baths. There I lived with William and Susan White, they were my English parents. I also had a brother, Jim, and a sister, Lisa. Jim was a year older than I and Lisa was 16, like me.

My travelling experience began the last week of June when I flew to England alone, something that  I had never done before. When I arrived at the London airport, Heathrow, for first time I felt los and worried, as well as astonished. But I also was eager and happy. I did not know what was going to happen. But I was a little comfortable when I saw my "English dad" waiting for me. But then I had another shock, I completetly forgot how they drive, by the right side, and at the airport`s parking I almost crashed a car. It was quite an experience to cross the streets.

My visit had a clear purpose. I wanted to spend and share time on a British school with fellow students. I was eager to learn what subjects they took for each level. I was quite annoyed to see that matters were similar to the ones we studied here. For me, Geography was the best. I had great memories of my fellow classmates who made my visit so interesting, especially of Lisa who made me part of our school in Bath.
I hope my friends and classmates may live an experience like the one I had. I met interesting people, found out how they live, their customs, and traditions. But most of all, I got new friends of life.
